JFK WINS DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY, VIRTUALLY ASSURED 3RD TERM IN CONGRESS

Boston, Massachusetts (JFK+50) On September 19, 1950, Congressman John F. Kennedy (11th District-Massachusetts) won the Democratic Primary which virtually guaranteed his re-election to a third term in the General Election held in November 1950.

JFK won re-election as expected for a third term in Congress and in 1952 defeated Henry Cabot Lodge, Jr. for a term in the United States Senate.  JFK served a six-year term, won re-election & then set his sights on the White House.
