"WHERE GERMANY MANUFACTURES ARMS"

FRANCE TO PUSH ON IN RHINELAND

Paris, France (JFK+50) France will probably extend the customs state to include the whole industrial region of Westphalia.  With the moral support of the United States, France hopes to win England's approval for the move.

Ralph Courtney writes that the new occupation...

"will...place the district where Germany manufactures her arms and ammunition under Allied control."

The French position in the matter came following the visit to the United States by Envoy Extraordinary Rene Viviani*.

*Jean Raphael Adrian Rene Viviani (1863-1925) was born in French Algeria & served as PM of France for the 1st year of WWI.  He sought to protect the rights of socialists & trade union workers.
