"ALSO WILL BE FLORENCE HARDING"S DOCTOR"

GENERAL SAWYER WILL CONTINUE AS WHITE HOUSE PHYSICIAN 

Washington, D.C. (JFK+50) On August 25, 1923, The White House announced that Brigadier General Charles E. Sawyer* will retain his position as White House physician.

Dr. Sawyer will also continue to serve as former 1st Lady Florence Harding's personal physician.  He will also remain as head of the Federal Board of Hospitalization.

*Charles Elmer Sawyer (1860-1924) was born in Wyandot, Ohio & graduated Cleveland Homeopathic Hospital College, 1881.  CES served as director Marion (Ohio) National Bank &  held rank of Brig Gen in the Army Medical Corps.
