KENNEDYS COURAGEOUS IN SECLUSION AS WELL AS IN PUBLIC
Chicago, Illinois (JFK+50) On November 27, 1963, the Associated Press reports "a priest who was with the Kennedy family in its long periods of intense grief says the Kennedys were as courageous and poised in seclusion as when facing the public."
The Rev. John Cavanaugh*, president emeritus of the University of Notre Dame said,
"They have a philosophy which every good believing person must have. They know the reality of life and death must fit into that belief."
Rev. Cavanaugh "said a mass for the late President Kenned at the White House Saturday morning."
*John Joseph Cavanaugh (1899-1979) was born in Owosso, Michigan & earned his Master's degree at the University of Notre Dame, 1927 & worked in advertising & as private secretary to Henry Ford.
JJC was priest of the Congregation of Holy Cross & president of Notre Dame University, 1946-1952. He was spiritual and secular adviser to the Kennedy family.
