FOKKER MONOPLANE TO BE PRESERVED IN NATIONAL MUSEUM
Washington, D.C. (JFK+50) On December 22, 1923, The Evening Star reports "the great Fokker monoplane T-2*...will be preserved in the National Museum here (in Washington) for posterity."
The aircraft, which ranks among the world's most famous, carried Lt. Oakley G. Kelly and Lt. John A. Macready from New York to San Diego non-stop last summer.
The T-2 will be dismantled for transport from Dayton, Ohio to Washington, D.C.
*T-2 originating in the Netherlands & introduced in 1921 is a cantilever low wing monoplane primarily used by the U.S. Navy.
