"PHOTOS AT THE RATE OF 300,000 A MINUTE"

ORDINANCE EXPERTS USE 2 TON CAMERA TO EXAMINE BEHAVIOR OF SHELLS & ARMOR PLATE

London (JFK+50) On January 16, 1924, the Associated Press reports "photographs at the rate of 300,000 a minute...are being made at Shoeburyness* under British government auspices."

The camera, weighing two tons, used to make the pictures is being employed by ordinance experts to examine the behavior of shells and armor plate.

*Shoeburyness (Shoebury) is a coastal town in the borough Southend-on-Sea in the county of Essex, England.
