POTOMAC VALLEY INUNDATED BY SERIOUS FLOODS
Washington, D.C. (JFK+50) On May 13, 1924, The Evening Star reports "the worst flood since 1889 is swirling past Washington today."
The floods, "sweeping down the Potomac Valley," have damaged "scores of residences" and "will cause millions of dollars loss."
Serious "inundation" is reported from Harper's Ferry, Harrisonburg, Woodstock, and Cumberland..."along the banks of the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers."
Train service has also been severely disrupted as a result of the floods.
