"WILL CAST ITS BALLOT FOR LA FOLLETTE"

WISCONSIN PROGRESSIVE DELEGATION WILL NOT BOLT NATIONAL REPUBLICAN CONVENTION

Cleveland, Ohio (JFK+50) On June 9, 1924, the International News Service learned the Wisconsin progressive delegation, although pledged to Senator Robert M. La Follette, "will not bolt the national (Republican) convention."

Although the Senator's name will not be placed in nomination, "the Wisconsin delegation will cast its ballot for him."  The delegation will elect Governor John J. Blaine* as its chairman to carry out the vote.

*John James Blaine (1875-1934) was born in Wingville, Wisconsin & graduated from Valparaiso University Law School 1896.  JJB served as governor of Wisconsin 1921-1927 & US Senator 1927-1933.
