THOUSANDS OF PASTORS TO PREACH ON EVILS OF WAR
Washington, D.C. (JFK+50) On July 25, 1924, The Washington Times reports that "thousands of sermons will be preached Sunday on World Co-operation and the Prevention of War."
The source of this report is an announcement made by the National Council for Prevention of War*. It reads in part...
"Popular leaders of thought and action...endorse such a demonstration in this...momentous year."
The Council has endorsed New York Governor Alfred E. Smith along with "other governors and many prominent women."
