"INJURIES MOST LIKELY WILL CAUSE DEATH"

CALIFORNIA MAN FALLS TO HIS DEATH DURING 'HUMAN FLY' DEMONSTRATION IN PENNSYLVANIA

Chambersburg, Pennsylvania (JFK+50) On August 31, 1924, The Evening Star reports George Oakley of Pasadena, California fell from the 4th floor of an office building here in Chambersburg yesterday "while giving a 'human fly demonstration'."

Mr. Oakley had climbed "up the outside of the building" while his wife held an automobile inner tube which her husband attached a cane to steady himself.

The tube broke and Mr. Oakley fell to the pavement.  The Star says his injuries most likely will cause death.
