BUSHMAN & BAYNE, SILENT MOTION PICTURE STARS, SEPARATE
Los Angeles, California (JFK+50) Associated Press reports on January 21, 1925, that motion picture actor Francis X. Bushman* and his wife, actress Beverly Bayne**, have separated.
Although no divorce action has yet been taken, as Miss Bayne put it...
"Mr. Bushman and I just decided it would be more agreeable to live apart."
The actor is currently in Europe working on a movie project while his estranged wife is living in Hollywood with their five year old son.
The couple had an affair in 1918 which resulted in Bushman's divorce from his first wife & marriage three days after it was granted.
*Francis Xavier Bushman (1883-1966) was born in Baltimore, MD & became of the the biggest stars of the silent movie era. 1910s & 1920s. He appeared in over 200 feature films then went into radio & television. He lost his fortune in the stock market crash of 1929.
**Beverly Bayne (1894-1982) was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota & moved to Chicago, Illinois. BB was a movie actress 1912-1951 appearing with Francis X. Bushman in 24 silent films. Her career declined rapidly after divorcing FXB in 1925.
