FIRST OF FOUR PRESIDENTIAL DEBATES TELEVISED TONIGHT ON FOUR MAJOR NETWORKS
Chicago, Illinois (JFK+50) On the evening of September 26, 1960, the first of four nationally televised debates between Republican presidential nominee Richard M. Nixon and Democratic presidential nominee John F. Kennedy took place here in the Windy City.
The Evening Star reports that the two party standard-bearers for the highest office in the land will address the largest audience than any two candidates have ever faced jointly.
CBS estimates that a thousand people have assisted in preparations for the debate. It is expected that a million people will be watching.
