NICOLAI LENIN REPORTED 'SLOWLY SINKING'
Riga* (JFK+50) According to a report from the Russian frontier dated April 28, 1923, Communist leader Nicolai Lenin** "is succumbing to paralysis, heart weakness and catarrh and is slowly sinking."
The Washington Times reports that bulletins arriving from Moscow are "cautiously worded" and there is uncertainty among residents of Lenin's "real condition."
*Riga, Latvia's capital, is located on the Baltic Sea & is a key economic, financial & cultural center.
**Lenin died on January 21, 1924 at age 53 in Moscow. His remains are in Lenin's Mausoleum in Red Square. Lenin was the 1st & founding head of the government of Soviet Russia, 1917-1924 & of the USSR, 1922-1924.
