"SUDDEN HEART ATTACK SEIZES DR. STEINMETZ"

GE'S ELECTRICAL WIZARD DIES AFTER STRENUOUS TRIP

Schenectady, New York (JFK+50) On October 26, 1923, Dr. Charles P. Steinmetz*, electrical wizard, passed away at his home here in Schenectady.

The electrical engineering genius, reports The Evening Star, had a physical breakdown after a very strenuous trip to the Pacific coast.

Dr. Steinmetz was in bed preparing to be served breakfast when "a sudden heart attack seized him and he died immediately."

*Dr. Charles Proteus Steinmetz (1865-1923) was born in Prussia & earned his PhD at Union College, 1903.  CPS was the chief consulting engineer of the General Electric Works in Schenectady, NY.  He came to America from Switzerland.  CPS had dwarfism, hip dysplasia & was a hunchback.  He was 4 feet tall.
