BRITS MAKE OVERTURES TO DANES FOR BUYING GREENLAND
Copenhagen, Denmark (JFK+50) On November 7, 1923, the Associated Press reports Great Britain "recently made overtures to Denmark for buying Greenland*."
The source of the AP report is the Ekstrabladet**. The newspaper states further that the British want to be allowed "to make the first offer of purchase if Denmark wished to sell at a future date."
The Ekstrabladet says Denmark's response to the British overtures to purchase Greenland is "no" for now and "never" for the future.
*Greenland is a North American territory of the Kingdom of Denmark. It is the largest country within that Kingdom. GL as the lowest density population in the world as 75% of its land is covered by a permanent ice sheet.
